I was invited to write for Volta Blue about solving business issues.

This promoted the 1st problem: My business is a community-based marketing business, making it quite different to a traditional business model.

So, I got to thinking what issues do I experience that traditional businesses have? Are they the same or different?

I am in a business for myself but not by myself, the branding, the websites, customer resources, back office, the product, the distribution are all provided for me.

I don’t have to worry about innovating to stay ahead of the game. My business is all about building relationships. Whether these are relationships with potential customers, current customers, my team and other teams. 


The Realisation

As I began to write this article, I realised that thinking about solving any one or several business issues, was not necessarily about the particular issue, or the particular business model. It is about taking the time to set yourself up properly for the day to face whatever challenges present themselves and about having the right intention. 

When I started my business, I was told the importance of setting goals, habits, gratefulness and more. And, I never put these things into action.

Recently this changed and now I start my day with a ritual of habits. These include: physical movement, listening to an inspirational talk, a 3 minute breathing exercise, saying 5 statements of who I am, writing 10 things I am grateful for, reading motivational phrases that I have selected.

Then I start on the business of the day.

The positive impact of starting the day with these habits has been far greater than I ever could have imagined.

If you ask me about solving business issues, for me, this starts with setting yourself up right at the beginning of the day, so you start with the right mindset and the right energy to solve the issues that arise.
